Why Technique Makes All the Difference

As a former competitive swimmer myself, technique is everything. I can't tell you how many times I've been swimming and observed other swimmers next to me—exerting massive amounts of energy, kicking their feet frantically, stroking fast with their arms, only to get to the wall gasping for air and needing a break. Meanwhile, the students I teach and I just easily pace by them, hardly kicking our feet, using the right entry, pull, and breathing technique for the stroke we're doing, and swimming multiple laps without stopping.

Having the right technique will go a long way. Maybe you already know how to swim and have watched countless videos online learning tips and tricks—but it's hard to know if you're doing it correctly without seeing yourself. That's where I come in. I can not only give you real-time feedback but correct your technique along the way, right there in the water.

One of the biggest swimming injuries is a torn rotator cuff, and that often comes from bad technique. Let's prevent that while also giving you a better, more efficient stroke that makes swimming enjoyable rather than exhausting.

Who This Program Is For

Recreational Lap Swimmers

You swim for fitness and enjoyment but feel like you're working too hard for the distance you cover. We'll refine your stroke mechanics to improve efficiency, reduce fatigue, and help you swim longer with less effort. Proper technique transforms swimming from exhausting to effortless.

Self-Taught Swimmers

You learned to swim on your own or picked it up informally, but you know your technique isn't quite right. We'll identify inefficient habits, rebuild your stroke from the ground up, and give you the technical foundation you never received. It's never too late to learn proper form.

Fitness & Health Focused

You want to use swimming as sustainable, low-impact exercise but struggle with shoulder pain, breathing issues, or general inefficiency. We'll teach you proper mechanics that protect your joints, prevent injury, and make swimming a workout you can maintain for life.

Multi-Sport Athletes

You run, cycle, or do other sports and want to add swimming for cross-training—but you need efficient technique that complements your training without causing burnout or injury. We'll develop a sustainable swimming foundation that enhances your overall athletic performance.

What People Are Saying

"I've been swimming laps for years but always felt like I was working way too hard. After just four sessions with DK, everything clicked. My stroke feels smooth, I'm not gasping for air anymore, and I can actually swim a mile without stopping. The difference is night and day."

Rachel I. · Recreational Swimmer ★★★★★

"I taught myself to swim as an adult and knew my technique was off, but I didn't know how to fix it. DK broke everything down—entry, pull, breathing—in a way that finally made sense. My freestyle feels completely different now, way more controlled and efficient."

Lance K. · Self-Taught Swimmer ★★★★★

"I'm a runner and cyclist who wanted to add swimming for cross-training, but I kept getting shoulder pain. DK identified the problem immediately—my stroke was putting too much stress on my rotator cuff. He corrected my mechanics and now swimming is a key part of my training with zero pain."

Darius A. · Multi-Sport Athlete ★★★★★
